Ivan Roque of Miami, Florida returned to Janesville for Art Infusion 2022 with this lovely mural inspired by Janesville-born songwriter Carrie Jacobs Bond. Bond composed popular music from the 1890s through the early 1940s, including the song "I Love You Truly," which sold over one million copies. She started her own sheet music publishing company, creating the artwork for her sheet music cover pages, which often contained roses and other flowers. The building owner and her sister also find special meaning in cardinals, connecting them to their mother, Rosetta. Look closely and you'll find a hidden message in one of the roses. Ivan, a Cuban-American visual artist, is also responsible for the incredible River of Life Mural painted in 2021. Raised in the inner city of the infamous Carol City with a passion for the concepts of birth, death, renewal and social struggles, his influences range from the old masters to the new such as Caravaggio, Marc Rothko, Typoe and Gianni Versace.
