Oak Hill Cemetery was established in 1851 and contains approximately 90 acres and 24,000 graves. It's a beautiful, park-like cemetery with meandering roads, plenty of shade trees, and Victorian headstones. and monuments. The 1899 Neo-Gothic style Oak Hill Chapel, with its lovely stained glass windows, is being restored. There is a Veterans Memorial in the veterans section located in the northwest corner, near the adjacent Mt Olivet Cemetery. Local historian Sherry Thurner leads walking tours of the cemetery once a month in the summer, and her blog is in the website link below. A second entrance is at the end of N Oakhill Drive, on the south side of the cemetery.
For researchers looking for specific gravesites, you can visit the Hedberg Public Library and look at the Guide to Oak Hill Cemetery, or call or visit the cemetery office and ask for help. The office is open Monday - Friday, 10am - 1pm. The City website provides a PDF of a block map of the cemetery.
