Barn quilts are painted quilt blocks mounted on a barn or other building. Rock County is home to over 250 barn quilts scattered throughout the countryside. They range from small 2 foot squares on garages to 8 foot blocks on barns. The Rock County Barn Quilt Project goals include promoting rural heritage, highlighting the architecture and history of barns in the county and educating the public about the art and history of quilting.
