Twelve-acre Bond Park is home to Janesville's skatepark, which opened in September of 2015. It also contains a memorial to Janesville native Carrie Jacobs Bond, a songwriter of the early 1900s who wrote I Love You Truly. Basketball, soccer and softball facilities can be found there, along with a playground, a pavilion that seats 65 and has a large grill, and restrooms that are open from April 15 until October 15. Just added in 2021, the Born Learning Trail is an innovative public engagement campaign that helps parents, caregivers and communities create quality early learning opportunities for young children. The trail contains 10 colorful and interactive signs with activities for adults to engage in with young children, turning an outdoor trip into a fun learning experience. Trails signs are printed in both English and Spanish. Click here for pavilion rental information or contact the City of Janesville Parks Division.
