As the semester winds down with exams, group projects, and paper due dates, finding the right space to focus is key. If you need a quiet spot to zone in or a place to relax between study sessions, check out these nearby spots. Let’s dive in!

Hedberg Public Library

When it comes to finding a solid study spot, the Hedberg Public Library is a perfect choice. With seven study rooms that can hold anywhere from 1-5 people, these free-to-reserve rooms are perfect for solo focus time or small group projects. Or just settle into one of the many quiet nooks tucked between bookshelves. Need a quick caffeine boost? Stop by The Ground Floor, the library’s volunteer-run coffee shop, for snacks and coffee to keep you fueled. Plus, you’ll have easy access to books, printers, and all the resources you need to crush your finals.

The library is within walking distance to the heart of our downtown. Take a mid-day break for lunch at Sandwich Bar, 808 Hawaiian Style Poké, or Citrus Cafe – all within just a few blocks.

Bodacious Shops of Block 42

Looking for a study spot with amazing views, food, and drinks to fuel your brain? Check out Bodacious Shops of Block 42 overlooking the Rock River in Janesville’s downtown! Start your morning with a honey latte (trust us, it’s a local favorite) or their house-roasted black coffee. Pair it with a fruit-filled açaí bowl or the ever-changing avocado toast of the month for the perfect breakfast. Studying until lunch? Swing by So Chopped, also inside the building, for a build-your-own salad, a signature wrap, or cheesy flatbread.

Mocha Moment

Looking for a study spot that feels like a getaway without going far? Mocha Moment is your spot. Tucked just off Center Avenue, this cozy coffee shop feels like it’s nestled in the middle of the woods. Work through your study materials next to a roaring fireplace with homemade baked goods (hello, scones and giant muffins) and hot coffee just a few steps away.

Havana Coffee

Located just off Milton Avenue, Havana Coffee is the cutest little coffee shop. Boasting a menu with everything under the sun, order a boba tea to chocolate peanut butter frappe or waffles to a veggie burger – depending on the time of your visit!
